Stream Assessment

GKY provides expert assessments of streams on varied sites, allowing our clients to meet regulatory and permitting requirements more rapidly and efficiently.

We use many stream assessment protocols, including:

  • » The Army Corps of Engineers Stream Attribute Assessment Methodology (SAAM)
  • » The Virginia DEQ Stream Impact and Compensation Assessment Manual (SICAM)
  • » The Environmental Protection Agency Rapid Bio-assessment Protocol (RBP)
  • » The Rosgen Bank Erosion Hazard Index (BEHI) scoring methodology

We are also able to employ the latest Unified Stream Methodology (USM), released by the Corps and Virginia DEQ to replace the SAAM and SICAM.

For localities governed by the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act, GKY is also ready to perform detailed investigations of stream perenniality.

Our experience includes:

Stream Assessments in Loudoun County, Virginia. GKY&A used protocols contained within the SAAM and SICAM to assess approximately three miles of stream on a private property in Loudoun County, Virginia.
