Engineering leader joins GKY

CHANTILLY, Va. (January 30, 2016) — GKY & Associates, Inc., an industry leader in water resources, announces the addition of John Paine. John will work primarily with public sector agencies to assist them in solving complex regulatory and engineering challenges.

“John is a huge addition for GKY.  He has top notch technical capabilities and has served as a trusted advisor to many Virginia municipalities in the Tidewater region and throughout the Commonwealth,” said Stu Stein, President of GKY. “He increases the firm’s stormwater service and engineering capabilities and expands our geographic reach in a growing water resources market. We are very excited to have John join the GKY team!”

Mr. Paine was previously Vice President with URS and AECOM and has over 30 years of experience in stormwater management, NPDES and VPDES permitting, stormwater master planning, Chesapeake Bay Watershed modeling, hydrology, hydraulics, GIS, floodplain modeling, and environmental permitting. His experience includes creating web-based systems for Virginia MS4 municipalities to manage permit data and fulfilling reporting requirements for both stormwater permit and sanitary sewer consent order compliance. He has managed hundreds of on-call stormwater assignments for public sector clients, focusing primarily (but not exclusively) on the Tidewater region of Virginia.

I have admired GKY and the reputation its principals have developed in Virginia for a long time. GKY is well suited to serve public sector clients in the Hampton Roads region, and I am very excited to be joining such a remarkable and likeable group of professionals.” said John.
